Göltürkbükü
Natural Structure 

 Golturkbuku
Göltürkbükü Town, took place in the northern part of peninsula, in Bodrum. It is restricted by Aegean Sea (Mandalya Gulf) in the north an east, Gündoğan Town in its west and Torba in its south-east part. 

The eastern and southern parts of Gölköy is the only forest area of the peninsula. Other environs are occupied with bushes. 

Citrus, fruits, especially satsuma are growed in the environs.Besidesthese, olive, almond, and fruit growed. 

The biggest property of Gölköy is its palm trees. 

History

golkoy2.jpg (12555 bytes)  The mithological name of Gölköy is Karianda. It was famous for the production of wine and viniculture. 

Türkbükü is a village which was called as antique Madrosa. It had been a Greek village before the Turks came. The name of the village was Rumbükü during that period. The people in the village earned their livings by fishing. It took the name Türkbükü, after the Turks had conquered. 

Gölköy and Türkbükü became a municipality called Göltürkbükü in the election of 1999.
